Public construction budgets grew by an impressive 56% in 2024, due in particular to reconstruction programmes following the devastating earthquake and strategic infrastructure projects. The ICCX %u2013 International Concrete Conference and Exhibition offers all players in the North African building industry and the international plant engineering and supplier industry the perfect platform for exchanging information. The trade fair and conference brings together the entire concrete industry in the region to expand and maintain professional networks with concrete manufacturers, suppliers and industry associations. With around 60 international exhibitors, ICCX North Africa offers the largest regional trade exhibition for the concrete industry to all industry experts. A conference programme tailored to the visitors%u2019 interests ideally rounds off the information on offer. The construction industry in North Africa, and Morocco in particular, continues to be strongly supported by public investment. The expansion of rail, air and sea ports and the drinking water and energy infrastructure are key growth drivers. But the 2030 FIFA World Cup is also bringing new projects onto the agenda that can often only be realised in technical and economic terms with concrete solutions. The construction boom is clearly noticeable in building construction: In 2024 alone, residential construction recorded an increase of around 15 per cent for apartment buildings and ten per cent for single-family homes. Industry growth of just under four per cent is expected for 2025, which is higher than the forecast GDP growth of 3.6 per cent. Between 100,000 and 150,000 residential units are expected to be built in 2025 alone. At the same time, programmes such as %u201cDirect Housing Assistance%u201d promote the purchase of residential property. Civil engineering is dominated by infrastructure projects. Investments in the areas of transport, energy and water supply are becoming increasingly important. The focus is on expanding the railway infrastructure: A state-of-the-art high-speed rail network between Kenitra, Rabat, Casablanca and Marrakesh is to be completed by 2030 as part of a programme worth almost 100 billion dirhams. Sports are also seen as a growth driver: The construction of the new %u201cStade Hassan II%u201d near Casablanca with a capacity of 115,000 spectators by around 2028 is part of the preparations for the 2030 FIFA World Cup. Six existing stadiums are also being modernised. Morocco is also promoting sustainable construction. By utilising technologies such as 3D printing, energy efficiency standards and passive house concepts, the quality and environmental compatibility of construction projects is increasing. The National Energy Efficiency Strategy for 2030 will provide the corresponding framework. Industry reports forecast annual growth of around 3.8-3.9 % from 2026 to 2029.Trade exhibition with international orientationThe centrepiece of the ICCX is the trade exhibition. This is where the concrete and precast concrete industry meets to network and establish business relationships. The trade exOn 29 and 30 October 2025, local and internationally recognised experts from the concrete industry will meet in Casablanca to discuss the latest developments and trends in the concrete industry. Networking and establishing business contacts are the main focus of ICCX North Africa.
