Holger Karutz Kristy Kieda Judi TaylorThe year 2025 has brought many changes and, as always with change, it depends on how you deal with it. When it comes to changes in staff, we must always keep in mind that our goal must be to form a team whose members are fully supportive of each other. One in which all members are responsible for their own individual areas, but also in which everyone can, may and should also look beyond their own horizons to suggest and initiate changes and improvements there as well.On a recent trip, I met a customer who mentioned in passing that he had already completed his human-resources planning for 2028 (!). I didn%u2019t say anything, but I was very impressed and wished that I was already that far ahead. Being able to see that far into the future requires meticulous planning and preparation, without waiting for external changes. The German federal government has recently recognized that changes are needed to restore the planning security necessary to serve as basis for confidence and active entrepreneurship. In 2026, Germany plans to particularly invest in education, infrastructure, digitalization and security. These are all fine words, and they are all correct, but those who wait for governmental action taking effect will be too late.Many precast plant operators told me already at bauma that they are ready to invest, but they lack perspectives for the future. In my view, however, waiting for better times has simply gone on far too long.When changes are necessary, we have to start small and as soon as possible. This can lead to difficult decisions, but we must always keep in mind what I mentioned at the beginning: With a team you can rely on, whether large or small, you are on the right track. With this in mind, I wish all entrepreneurs strength for a time when they must take their fate into their own hands. When positive external influences do indeed come into play in the 2026 investment year, then I am confident that by the end of 2026 we will be able to talk about better figures than is the case today.Embarking on change in the coming 2026 investment year
