CONCRETE PRODUCTS & CAST STONE62 CPI %u2013 Concrete Plant International %u2013 6 | 2025 www.cpi-worldwide.comWooden production pallets are often criticised in concrete paving block production: too sensitive, too short-lived, too high-maintenance. Peri confronts these prejudices with a fact check %u2013 and shows why Peri Pave has been appreciated worldwide for 25 years. As one of the leading suppliers of formwork and scaffolding systems and wood-based materials, Peri has been impressing customers for decades with its quality, innovation and customer focus. With Peri Pave, the company developed a production pallet specially optimised for concrete paving block production %u2013 a product that is now used in over 35 countries. Kathrin Wunder and Martin Manz, Sales and Product Manager for Peri Pave, explain why the pallet not only fulfils the requirements of the industry, but also exceeds them in many areas, based on specific properties and application experience. A new sales strategy also shows how Peri intends to remain a strong partner for production pallets in the future. Fact 1: Stability begins at the core Peri Pave is more than just a classic plywood panel, because the high-quality multiplex construction has been specially adapted to the requirements of concrete paving block production. In contrast to plywood, very thin, evenly peeled veneers are used, which are glued crosswise in several layers, resulting in a special load-bearing structure. This manufacturing process ensures high dimensional stability even under changing climatic conditions - while keeping the weight low. Fact 2: No problem with moistureThe edges of the pallet are designed to be open to diffusion. This allows moisture to be absorbed and released again in a targeted manner - a decisive advantage in the sometimes very humid production environments. This controlled moisture exchange in conjunction with the construction of the base pallet prevents the pallet from swelling, cracking or the coating from flaking off. At the same time, a specially developed edge varnish reliably protects the wood from uncontrolled water ingress - even in high humidity or extreme conditions in curing chambers.
