ICCX SPECIAL10 CPI %u2013 Concrete Plant International | India Edition %u2013 1 | 2026 www.cpi-worldwide.comConference programmeA highly anticipated highlight was the continuation of the ICCX Academy %u2013 a concrete technology workshop led by Prof. J%u00fcrgen Oecknick (PSA Zurich Area GmbH, Switzerland). The two-part workshop addressed the causes of complaints in the concrete industry and examined how responsibilities, technical interrelationships, and mutual understanding can lead to improved solutions. The focus was on quality deficiencies that may arise at all stages of concrete production and processing - from the selection of raw materials and their combination to the interactions within the finished concrete mix. Using practical examples, the workshop demonstrated how unsuitable aggregates, inappropriate mineral additions, or insufficiently understood combinations of cement and chemical admixtures can result in significant quality problems. A particular emphasis was placed on a topic of high practical relevance: discoloration and efflorescence on mortar and concrete surfaces. In addition, the event featured a workshop on earthquake-resistant construction using precast concrete elements, in which Prof. Ing. Stefano Pampanin (University of Rome), a globally recognised expert in this field, provided detailed insights into developments over the past thirty years. He presented an integrated, low-damage structural system based on precast concrete technology that can be implemented as a simple and cost-effective solution.A dedicated session was devoted to autoclaved aerated concrete, as this material is gaining increasing importance in Kazakhstan for modern and cost-efficient construction. In addition to local experts, specialists from Turkey, China, Switzerland, and Serbia presented their contributions, supported by the Kazakh Association of Autoclaved Aerated Concrete Manufacturers.Networking in an inspiring atmosphereThe new venue, the Royal Tulip Hotel Almaty, proved to be an excellent choice. In addition to the presentations and the technical exhibition, ICCX Eurasia 2025 offered numerous opportunities for networking, ranging from spontaneous discussions during session breaks to scheduled meetings with industry representatives. Many participants praised both the consistently professional organisation of the event and the outstanding platform it provided for exchange between academia, industry, and planners.Adilkhan Bektemirov, DSK GLB,Astana, KazakhstanThis is my first time at ICCX, and I really like it %u2013 it%u2019s a great event. There are major suppliers present here, and interesting speakers, too. For example, Stefano Pampanin: he shared some really interesting things that I had never heard before. They open up a completely different sector for me in which to develop. At the exhibition, I met many colleagues with whom we already cooperate, as well as potential business partners with whom we are only planning to cooperate. It%u2019s great that everyone is in one place, so you can see and talk to everyone. Ashish Yadav, Buildcast Solution Private Limited,IndiaI learned about the event on LinkedIn, and as soon as I saw that Stefano Pampanin will give a workshop here, I at once decided to come. I enjoyed the event a lot and learned really a lot of things from Mr. Pampanin. I also had an opportunity to talk with the speaker after the session and share the information about the development of the concrete and AAC sector in India and about the projects, in which we could implement his experience. Nowadays we of course use precast concrete in India, but our methods are quite old, and I%u2019m glad that during the conference I learnt a lot of new things to improve the situation. Irina Ilina, Akkermann Cement,Tashkent, UzbekistanOur company specializes in the cement sector. We are quite innovative and have experience working throughout Eurasia. We don%u2019t just sell cement, we sell solutions. This is our first time at your event. I really liked that there were many foreign speakers here. This is not often seen at similar events held in Eurasia region now. European experience is, after all, the experience that is worth learning from. It is very important for us to introduce European experience into the Uzbek and Kazakh concrete sector, which continues to develop dynamically. Without a doubt, this is a high bar to strive for. It is great that all sectors of concrete construction are represented at the event. It is very important that people have the opportunity to communicate with each other, grow professionally, and explore new horizons. Prof. Ing. Stefano Pampanin, an expert in earthquake-resistant construction with precast concrete elements, provided detailed insights into the developments of the past thirty years.
