Since then, the production of ready-mix concrete and precast concrete elements has been one of the main activities of the concrete plant. The company is constantly working on product development and the introduction of innovations in production. The company recently decided to invest in a residual concrete recycling system from the manufacturer Bibko%u00ae and has now put it into operation. The Bibko-ComTec 30 system supplied offers a recycling capacity of 30 m%u00b3/h and is additionally equipped with an external bucket elevator, which enables additional feeding of material at ground level. The washed-out residual concrete is either fed directly from the truck mixer into the charging hopper of the wash-out machine or fed by concrete pumps into the floor-level hopper of the bucket wheel.Solids > 0.2 mm are washed out and discharged accordingly in the wash-out trough. The water containing the smaller fines first flows through a water drain into a so-called pump sump, where it is then pumped into the agitator tank using a 2.0 kW pump. The tank, which was also supplied and installed by Bibko, is equipped with an agitator that keeps the fines in the residual water in motion by means of cyclic agitation, thus preventing them from settling. As the tank is above ground, a pump sump including a pump was installed in between. Due to the temperature and weather conditions in Iceland, this was fitted with cladding and insulation to ensure that the pump would continue to function even at temperatures as low as -40 %u00b0C.The wash-out machine itself is equipped with a 3 m wide charging hopper and a rotating rinsing gibbet, making it suitable for washing two truck mixers at the same time. A 3 m long screw conveyor ensures optimised discharge of the washed-out material. The delivery was preceded by a corresponding project planning phase in which the customer%u2019s requirements and local conditions were considered. Bibko systems are characterised by highly efficient drive technology that is energy-efficient and low-wear. This means that the new Bibko recycling system can also meet the customer%u2019s environmental policy requirements. nNew residual concrete recycling system at Steypust%u00f6%u00f0in in IcelandBibko Recycling Technologies GmbH, 71717 Beilstein, GermanyFURTHER INFORMATIONwww.steypustodin.isBibko Recycling Technologies GmbH Steinbeisstra%u00dfe 1+2, 71717 Beilstein, Germany T +49 7062 92640 info@bibko.comwww.bibko.comThe Bibko-ComTec 30 system supplied offers a recycling capacity of 30 m%u00b3/h The washed-out residual concrete is fed from the truck mixer directly into the charging hopper of the wash-out machine.
