                                    CONCRETE TECHNOLOGYwww.cpi-worldwide.com CPI %u2013 Concrete Plant International %u2013 5 | 2025 413 Fresh concrete consistency in the conventional 3-component systemIn a first step, the required water content for achieving a specific fresh concrete consistency was investigated by varying the constituent materials (sand and cement). For this purpose, concretes were produced using the conventional 3-component system, with variation of the cement type (Z1 to Z4) and fine aggregate (S1 and S4). To achieve different consistencies, the water content was systematically varied between 170 and 234 L/m%u00b3, corresponding to w/c ratios ranging from 0.50 to 0.65. In addition, the cement content %u2013 and thus the paste content %u2013 of the fresh concrete was varied. Table 3 summarizes the concrete mix compositions studied.
