The project was recently implemented successfully at a leading precast concrete manufacturer in Switzerland and demonstrates how modern formwork design combined with advanced prestressing expertise can enhance efficiency in precast concrete production. With the goal of significantly increasing production capacity while ensuring very high flexibility in geometry and volume, the customer chose an innovative system solution from Construx-Weckenmann. The result is a modular formwork system that replaces traditional prestressing beds %u2013 featuring self-stressing technology, variably adjustable formwork shapes, and a mobile central hydraulic unit for the demoulding process. Technical concept: smart prestressing technology meets modular flexibilityAt the heart of the solution is a highly adaptable combi-formwork system that is adjustable in both length and width. This allows for the realization of different component geometries with minimal setup effort %u2013 an obvious advantage for plants with varying order profiles or just-in-time production requirements. A key feature is the separation of the prestressing frame from the formwork body. While the geometry is defined by the formwork itself, special longitudinal beams in the frame absorb all prestressing forces. Prestressing takes place internally %u2013no external support or foundation anchors are required. This design principle not only allows for high mechanical load capacity but also simplifies maintenance and in-process adjustments. The edge and end formwork components are also flexibly designed. Fixed or variably adjustable geometries %u2013 optionally with integrated steps %u2013 are available at the ends. The side formworks along the longitudinal edges can be executed as either one-sided adjustable or fixed on both sides. Factory-installed vibrators ensure consistent concrete compaction and significantly contribute to the high surface quality and durability of the produced elements %u2013 all with minimal maintenance requirements.
