Email your proposal to: editor@cpi-worldwide.com166Spectacular cavern garage made of precast concrete elementsA six-storey car park in the K%u00fcchelberg tunnelAn extremely impressive infrastructure project is currently being realised beneath the streets of Merano: a six-storey underground car park in the K%u00fcchelberg tunnel. The 170 m long main cavern, which is fully accessible via a tunnel and offers direct pedestrian access to the city centre, is a technical masterpiece.The construction of the new underground car park was entrusted to a bidding consortium made up of the company Central Parking spa and the contracted companies Ribo Skyline srl, Seeste Bau srl, Obfinim spa, PAC spa and Carron Bau srl. Work began in mid-January 2023. The underground car park is scheduled to open in October 2026, at the same time as the opening of the second construction lot of the northwest bypass. The underground car park under the K%u00fcchelberg extends over six floors and will have 594 parking spaces. In addition, there will be a bicycle rental service with a garage for 200 pedal vehicles, 12 charging stations for electric cars, several parking spaces for car sharing, women and families, sanitary facilities, an ecological car wash, a warehouse for customers%u2018 purchases and a goods delivery service for shops in the city centre during times when motorised vehicles are prohibited. There will be three pedestrian exits for car park users.4,000 m%u00b2 of double walls were manufactured and delivered for this project at the Progress Group%u2018s own precast plant. Specially trained fitters, who are specially prepared for the requirements of the building site, are responsible for carrying out the assembly work.
