For the concrete industry, this means that verified information on CO2 footprint, material composition, durability, and recyclability will increasingly become mandatory, directly influencing competitiveness. A SWOT analysis shows that, alongside opportunities such as greater transparency, innovation potential, and the ability to account for CO2 uptake in concrete, there are also significant challenges, particularly the effort required for data collection and life-cycle assessments. At the same time, legal and reputational risks associated with greenwashing are increasing; the DPP addresses these risks by providing a reliable and verifiable framework. Overall, the Digital Product Passport should be viewed less as a regulatory burden and more as a strategic opportunity for a more sustainable and future-proof concrete and construction industry.David Abouem %u00e0 Tchoyi jr.Fracture-mechanical characterization of highlyductile fibre-reinforced concretes (SHCC/HPFRCC)SHCC (Strain-Hardening Cement-Based Composites) belong to the class of high-performance fibre-reinforced cement composites and are characterized by high post-cracking strength, exceptional deformability, and enhanced durability. Owing to the increased durability of structural components, the need for maintenance and repair is significantly reduced, leading to substantial savings in material consumption and associated CO%u2082 emissions over the entire service life. Also referred to as highly ductile fibre-reinforced concretes, SHCC are currently used primarily in structural engineering, seismic applications, repair and strengthening, and the production of precast elements. The tensile stress-strain relationship represents a key material property for the characterization of these composites. To avoid complex and time-consuming direct tensile tests, a simplified inverse method for determining tensile properties based on flexural test results is presented.
