These projects not only advance infrastructure but also create local employment and training opportunities %u2014 a hallmark of Webuild%u2019s commitment to innovation and sustainable development.Webuild approached Bianchi Casseforme S.r.l. through its local dealer, Gabor Concrete, and selected the company to supply advanced formwork systems to produce prestressed bridge beams, providing technology and precision engineering to support Webuild%u2019s ambitious goals in the region. Bianchi supplied four completely separate beam production facilities to Webuild.The project is Lot 3 of the Sibiu-Pitesti, the most complex part of the double-lane highway because it crosses the Carpathian Mountains between Cornetu and Tigveni for 37.4 kilometres. Some 12 kilometres of the total length include bridges and viaducts, and a 1.7-kilometre-long twin tunnel. Commissioned by Compagnia Nationala de Administrare a Infrastructurii Rutiere (CNAIR) on behalf of the Romania%u2019s transport and infrastructure ministry, the work is being done by a consortium led by Webuild. In addition to the tunnel, bridges and viaducts, Lot 3 includes the design and construction of two interchanges at Valeni and Cornetu, 18 kilometres of consolidation works, and the construction of a maintenance and control centre. This new highway will help reduce traffic congestion between Cornetu and Tigveni by providing an alternative route to national roads.Each site includes two production lines for prestressed beams and two Speedy concrete distribution machines, ensuring high productivity, flexibility, and efficiency in their manufacturing process.Formwork systemThe supply features four self-reacting long line beam systems, each 83 metres long, with a maximum load capacity of 1,200 tons. Each beam line is composed of longitudinal load bearing beams and transverse end beams designed to absorb the full load of the strands.
