The most recent upgrade, ordered in September 2024, continues this partnership with the extension of an existing line %u2014 this time under exceptionally tight spatial constraints.Inside a compact 20 %u00d7 28-meter production hall, SR Schindler engineered and installed a highly flexible U-shaped finishing line that seamlessly integrates with Alserkal%u2019s existing shotblasting system. The configuration supports a wide product spectrum %u2014 from pavers and slabs to curbstones %u2014 in varying dimensions and thicknesses, while accommodating the site%u2019s diverse loading and unloading requirements.Smart Material Handling for Diverse ProductsProduct packages arrive strapped and pallet-free: paving stones stacked in layers, slabs delivered upright. To manage this complexity, SR Schindler implemented a dual-rail transport system. The primary rail guides incoming product packages to the unloading position, while a second rail acts as a buffer to maintain continuous workflow.A versatile robot equipped with three interchangeable tools %u2014 a vacuum plate for upright slabs, a two-sided clamp for curbstones, and a four-sided clamp for paving layers %u2014 ensures precise, product-specific handling. Upright slab packages are stabilized by a tilting mechanism that lifts and slightly tilts the packages before de-strapping, preventing them from collapsing when the bands are removed.Curling and Coating: Efficiency Through IntegrationAfter shotblasting and visual inspection, a second layer pusher transfers the products to the new SR Schindler curling machine, installed at a right angle to both upstream and downstream processes.
