One CMHA-led course, Production Plant Bootcamp: Mastering the Fundamentals of Efficient, Effective & Safe Operations, provided a comprehensive look at the core components of successful masonry, hardscape and precast production. Led by industry experts from ACM Chemistries and Besser Company, the course examined how equipment, materials, safety practices and personnel interact within a manufacturing environment. Rather than focusing on individual processes in isolation, the bootcamp focused on emphasizing systems thinking and helping participants better understand how inefficiencies in one area can impact production across the plant. On Wednesday, Feb. 4, CMHA also hosted the Masonry & Hardscapes Plant Production Showcase, which offered attendees a practical introduction to innovative equipment, technologies and solutions currently being used in masonry and hardscape manufacturing. Designed for plant personnel, managers and owners, the showcase featured industry partners presenting tools and systems aimed at improving efficiency, quality, safety and production flexibility. The hands-on format from event presenters Besser Company, Columbia Machine Inc., KraftCuring, Pathfinder Systems, QUADRA, Rekers, Quatromatic Inc. and Topwerk America allowed attendees to evaluate new technologies firsthand and engage directly with the industry partners.CMHA further addressed long-term operational reliability through plant maintenance %u2013 Prevent Problems Before They Start: Maintenance Planning for Concrete & Masonry Plants. The course presenters from Southwest Block Inc. focused on the fundamentals of preventative maintenance, including inspection routines, documentation practices and maintenance planning. Emphasis was placed on proactive approaches that help reduce unplanned downtime, improve equipment reliability and support production output.Together, CMHA%u2019s education offerings at The Precast Show reflected a broader commitment to practical, production-driven training. By focusing on operational fundamentals, maintenance planning and cross-functional communication, the sessions supported producers in addressing real-world challenges and strengthening plant performance.Hobson explained that the courses were designed to deliver value across all roles and experience levels. %u201cNo matter what part of the industry they are a part of, attendees will have many takeaways they can apply immediately, and that%u2019s the goal of these education offerings,%u201d she said.As part of their broader education strategy, CMHA continues to invest in tools that support industry advancement. During the Annual Meeting, CMHA also introduced CMHA Edge, a new education platform focused on education, development, growth and excellence that is designed to centralize a wide variety of industry-specific training and resources. CMHA Edge expands access to production-focused education beyond in-person events, supporting ongoing workforce development and operational consistency throughout the year.nFURTHER INFORMATIONwww.masonryandhardscapes.orgOne CMHA-led course, Production Plant Bootcamp: Mastering the Fundamentals of Efficient, Effective & Safe Operations, provided a comprehensive look at the core components of successful masonry, hardscape and precast production.
