PRECAST CONCRETE ELEMENTSwww.cpi-worldwide.com CPI %u2013 Concrete Plant International %u2013 4 | 2025cover of 2 cm in order to improve the structural load-bearing capacity of the walls with a reinforcement closer to the surface. Despite the thin components with reduced concrete cover, it was important to avoid contact between the two layers of carbon fibre reinforcement and the metal of the formwork and built-in components. Once the formwork was closed, the battery was ready for concreting the wall, which was only 8 cm wide.Concrete work The structural elements were concreted with high flowable concrete (F6) of strength class C35/45 from the company's own mixing plant. Securing the carbon fibre mats with magnets and plastic spacers prevented the reinforcement from floating. Contact between the carbon reinforcement and the metal of the formwork was also avoided. A 2.20 m high and only 8 cm wide component made of carbon concrete could be produced with two layers of carbon mats as reinforcement. After releasing the cross bracing of the battery mould, the parts could be quickly removed from the formwork. This is another advantage of the casting process in vertical formwork. The precision and quality of this component illustrate the advantages of the new technology and its potential for future applications in the precast concrete industry.Innovative combination of design and manufacturing processThe use of the battery as a formwork system for components made of non-metallic reinforcement is an innovative combination of the design and the manufacturing process. The casting process in the battery's vertical formwork also has numerous advantages for carbon concrete. This means that formwork-smooth walls can be produced quickly on both sides. The space required on the production floor is significantly reduced as the elements are stacked vertically. With slight adaptations, the Multiform formwork systems with Magfly AP magnets, H-formwork and Screwframe, which are familiar from the tilting table, are also suitable for the battery. These systems offer flexibility and precision in the production of sophisticated precast concrete parts. This not only contributes to sustainability, but also significantly reduces production costs. Furthermore, the process enables a high degree of flexibility in terms of the shapes and sizes of the components produced, which is particularly advantageous for series production and customised products. The method shown here can open up new possibilities in the efficient and high-quality production of carbon concrete components. The construction industry can benefit from increased efficiency, improved sustainability and greater flexibility thanks to the combination of innovative formwork systems and the casting process in vertical formwork. The efficiency of the battery can be further optimised with the butterfly formwork. This allows for horizontal equipment as on the steel table. nFURTHER INFORMATIONB.T. innovation GmbHSudenburger Wuhne 6039116 Magdeburg, GermanyT + 49 391 73520info@bt-innovation.dewww.bt-innovation.deEffective & efficient: THE connection for precast concrete elementsB.T.
