In Figure 7, the determined minimum water contents for the use of different types of admixtures are presented. It should be noted that reducing the water content also directly reduces the paste content. Therefore, when designing fresh concrete, this reduction must be considered and adjusted accordingly if necessary.In an exemplary experimental study, the water content of concretes with different fine aggregates (S1, S3, and S4) was systematically varied. The initial concrete mix was produced with a cement content of 360 kg/m%u00b3, a w/c ratio of 0.49, and a resulting paste content of 295 l/m%u00b3. In subsequent steps, the water content was gradually reduced from 176 l/m%u00b3 to 162 l/m%u00b3 and 146 l/m%u00b3, while keeping the cement content constant at 360 kg/m%u00b3. This reduction to 162 l/m%u00b3 led to a lower paste content of 280 l/m%u00b3. When the water content was further reduced to 146 l/m%u00b3, the paste content was adjusted back to 280 l/m%u00b3 by adding limestone powder (see Fig. 8).
