This equipment, weighing 150 tons, uses sensor technology and walkways to ensure safety during operation. For the construction of the new bridge, Entrevias is implementing the balanced cantilever method for its 125-meter central span, which will guarantee the continuity of navigation on the Tiet%u00ea-Paran%u00e1 Canal. A total of 3,900 additional tons of steel and 5,000 tanker trucks of concrete will be used.ChileThe new Industrial Bridge over the Biob%u00edo River, inaugurated a month ago, is located 500 km from the city of Santiago, Chile. It connects the cities of Hualp%u00e9n and San Pedro de la Paz, in the province of Concepci%u00f3n, via a 6.5 km highway. The design of the bridge's load-bearing structure utilized the New Seismic Criteria, resulting in the implementation of central crossbeams in each span, seismic anchors, supports, and special seismic joints. The infrastructure consists of a dual carriageway with two lanes in each direction, connecting to Costanera Avenue to the north and Route 160 to the south. Each carriageway is 7 meters wide, with 1.5 m outer shoulders and 1 m inner shoulders. The Industrial Bridge spans 2,500 meters, of which 2,100 meters are straight and 430 meters are curved, connecting the municipalities of San Pedro de la Paz and Hualp%u00e9n.Each column rests on four piles, 2 to 2.5 meters in diameter, depending on the terrain, with an average depth of 30 meters in the riverbed. The superstructure consists of 56 spans, each 45 meters long. On either side, there are two abutments formed by 55 piers, which in turn rest on four piers for each 2.5-meter diameter pile. Each span is composed of seven prestressed beams with an average length of 43 meters and a height of 2.25 meters, weighing 100 tons. This weight varies in the curved sections. The beams are spaced 3.55 meters apart on centre, resulting in a total deck width of 24.8 meters. The beams are attached to a reinforced concrete slab with a minimum thickness of 20 cm, which are then connected to the railings. n
