This section forms the western part of the future A8 highway, one of the most strategic road infrastructure projects in Romania.The A8 highway, also known as the Unirii Highway, represents a priority axis within the national and European infrastructure development plan, linking the regions of Transylvania and Moldova through an east%u2013west corridor integrated into the TEN-T transport network.The initial section of the project, with a total length of approximately 24.4 km between T%u00e2rgu Mure%u0219 and Miercurea Nirajului%u2014including the connection to the A3 motorway via an additional 2.4 km link%u2014presents a high level of technical complexity due to the wide variety of structures to be executed on predominantly undulating terrain with numerous secondary road crossings.In this context, local production of long-span beams is essential to maintain the planned construction schedule and to ensure the structural quality of the corridor%u2019s many viaducts. To meet these requirements, Horizont Project 2D SRL will install high capacity prestressing systems designed to allow the on-site manufacture of large-scale precast elements.Technical characteristics of the self-reacting prestressing lines (1,500 T)The supplied self-reacting prestressing lines are designed to meet the demanding requirements of strength, precision and repeatability associated with heavy-duty infrastructure beams.
