She is a PhD candidate in Construction Engineering at the Universitat Polit%u00e8cnica de Catalunya (UPC) and a predoctoral researcher working on recycled aggregates for 3D-printed concrete and lightweight fibre-reinforced solutions for sustainable building retrofitting. She is a member of the C3S Research Group. She previously worked as a lecturer at ESPOL (Ecuador) with responsibilities in academic coordination and accreditation, and gained industry experience at Holcim Ecuador. Her research focuses on sustainable concretes and durability, with results published in peer-reviewed journals and international conferences. samantha.elizabeth.hidalgo@upc.edun Safian Herrera Bustos is a Civil Engineer based in Barcelona with experience in concrete technology and geotechnical engineering. He has worked as a Laboratory Assistant at the Laboratori de Tecnologia d%u2019Estructures i Materials %u201cLlu%u00eds Agull%u00f3%u201d, contributing to sustainable high-performance concretes and supporting mechanical characterization testing. He has also collaborated with industry teams on industrial-scale specialty concrete production and student training. Previously, he was a Junior Geotechnical Engineer at Geostrudios (Ecuador), working on foundation design and soil stabilization in high-seismicity areas. His skills include structural modeling, BIM-based construction planning, and Python programming for civil engineering applications.hector.safian.herrera@estudiantat.upc.edun Nadia Quijano Arteaga is a Civil Engineer with over 10 years of experience in structural engineering and sustainable materials. She is currently a Researcher at the Universitat Polit%u00e8cnica de Catalunya (UPC), leading experimental studies on fiber-reinforced concrete and structural ductility. In parallel, she serves as a Graduate Professor at ESPOL, teaching advanced structural engineering courses and supervising research projects. She previously worked as Academic Coordinator of the Civil Engineering program at ESPOL, contributing to accreditation and curriculum development. She has supervised over 20 Master%u2019s theses and has published and presented internationally on structural engineering and sustainability. nadia.quijano@upc.edun Albert de la Fuente is a full Professor at the Universitat Polit%u00e8cnica de Catalunya (UPC) and founder of the C3S research group. His research focuses on Fiber Reinforced Concrete, 3D Printing with Cement-Based Materials, and Sustainability Assessment, with over 200 JCR-indexed publications, 100+ conference contributions, and 20+ PhD supervised. He intensively collaborates with the construction industry through research projects. He coordinates the EU co-funded project CIRC-BOOST. As fib Fellow, he co-chairs fib Commission 7 %u201cSustainability%u201d and actively contributes to multiple fib and ACHE task groups. She has worked in both industry and academia, serving at Lafarge Holcim Ecuador as National Quality Control Coordinator at Lafarge Holcim Ecuador before pursuing her doctoral studies.
