The family-run company, now in its fourth generation, builds on more than 100 years of experience in the production of precast concrete elements. Oberndorfer offers a wide range of services from a single source for large, small and particularly complex construction projects. This includes the production, delivery and assembly of precast elements. Today, Oberndorfer employs around 1,000 people and produces precast concrete elements in a total of nine plants.At the start of 2025, Oberndorfer switched from the existing ERP system to the current RIB One Prefab ERP across all departments. A milestone for the largest producer of precast concrete elements in Austria. Since then, all technical tasks can be covered consistently with the RIB software: From the time the order is received through to delivery.All tasks on one platformThe precast concrete manufacturer Oberndorfer was looking for a new, fully integrated system that could map all technical tasks in one process. The previous, fragmented IT landscape required redundant data maintenance and made cross-departmental coordination difficult. The company wanted a modern, web-based technology that would allow access from any location and would also fulfil the high safety standards within the company. The idea was to map all processes, including costing, in an integrated IT system.As part of the partnership between RIB One Prefab and Oberndorfer, a new connector was created for the connection to the commercial ERP system used in the company. The close, particularly conscientious cooperation and a large number of tests set the course for the company's smoothest software introduction to date across all plants. Through previous projects in the field of production automation, there has always been a lively exchange between RIB and Oberndorfer, in the course of which RIB was able to build up a profound understanding of the company's processes.The changeover of technical tasks took place gradually. Other departments were gradually migrated from the previous ERP application to the new one. The company started with assembly planning. This was followed by transport planning, technical planning and other areas. Production planning, the most important area of work, brought up the rear. The internal company organisation headed by Wolfgang Feichter was tasked with ensuring that all departments were able to continue working seamlessly during the introduction. This was ensured by temporary interfaces. As part of the technology partnership, RIB developed the basic processes for precast element production with the new ERP system. \standardised and mature software with continuous further development and optimum support.
