The aim was not to present finished solutions but to inspire, demonstrate potential and foster dialogue. The more successfully employees and leaders are engaged, the easier the transformation becomes %u2014 particularly when applications are designed from the user perspective: simple, intuitive and supportive.Sustainable AI implementation therefore requires: clear ambition, a solid data foundation, adapted processes and an innovation-friendly culture. Only the interaction of these factors turns technology into real progress. From Construction Site to Value Chain %u2013 AI in Practical ApplicationHow these strategic considerations can be implemented in practice is demonstrated by a current example from Max B%u00f6gl%u2019s construction operations.Let us therefore return to the original question:What could a navigation system for the construction site look like?At its core, the goal is real-time transparency %u2014 a shared situational picture of all ongoing processes. And decisions should no longer be made only once problems become visible, but already when they begin to emerge.A key prerequisite for this is industrialized construction with standardized products and clearly synchronized processes. Max B%u00f6gl has pursued this vision for many years. One example is the hybrid tower developed for hub heights of up to 199 meters in the wind energy sector. The lower part of the tower consists of precast concrete rings, manufactured in a plant and delivered to site in segments for transport reasons.A major part of the site work consists of pre-assembling these segments so they can be lifted onto the tower as a complete ring. This process is highly standardized and tightly scheduled. It runs in parallel with the actual tower erection %u2014 with one clear objective: minimizing crane utilization time in order to build as many towers as possible for the energy transition with the available resources. To maintain an overview across many parallel construction sites, function-specific dashboards are being developed that consolidate all relevant performance indicators. They visualize tower status, make cycle times transparent, and show the effects of external influences such as weather conditions. To ensure this information is available in real time rather than with delay, a computer-vision-based AI approach is being implemented together with a start-up. Construction cameras already used for nighttime security now also provide daytime images of relevant work areas. In compliance with European data protection requirements, these images are analyzed by AI models and assigned to the current construction status.PRODUCTIONBOARDSPolishproductOver 15 years of experience in manufacturingproduction boards.
